Soundsnap Sound Effects License

Soundsnap has merged its former Pro and Pro+ licenses into a single unified license.

This Soundsnap License (the “License”) is a legally binding agreement between you (“You” or “Your”) and OJOO LIMITED, a Cyprus limited liability company doing business as Soundsnap (“Soundsnap,” “we,” “us” or “our”). This License governs Your rights to download and use sound recordings and related copyrightable works made available through the Soundsnap website and services (collectively, the “Sounds”).

By downloading, accessing, or using any Sounds, You agree to be bound by this License and the Soundsnap Terms of Service. If You do not agree to these terms, You must not download or use the Sounds.

This License is incorporated into and governed by the Terms of Service available on the Soundsnap website.

1. DEFINITIONS

“Creative Works” means works that incorporate the Sounds, whether in original or modified form, including without limitation films, television programs, broadcasts, video games, applications, software, online videos, podcasts, advertisements, trailers, social media content, digital or physical products, installations, or any other media now known or later developed.

“Original Author” means the individual or entity that created the Sound and retains underlying ownership of its copyright.

2. LICENSE GRANT

Subject to the terms and conditions of this License and the Terms of Service, Soundsnap hereby grants You a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual (for the duration of the applicable copyright), irrevocable license, except in the case of material breach of this License, to:

  • use, reproduce, edit, modify, synchronize, and incorporate the Sounds into Creative Works;
  • publicly perform, display, distribute, transmit, broadcast, publish, and monetize Creative Works that include the Sounds; and
  • make technical modifications to the Sounds as reasonably necessary to exercise the rights granted under this License.

Attribution is not required.

All rights not expressly granted to You are reserved by Soundsnap and the Original Authors.

3. LICENSE RESTRICTIONS

The license granted above is expressly made subject to and limited by the following restrictions.

You may not:

  • sell, sublicense, share, distribute, or make available any Sound on a standalone basis or in a manner that allows the Sound to be extracted or reused separately from a Creative Work;
  • redistribute the Sounds as sound effects libraries, sample packs, or similar competing products;
  • use the Sounds in any manner that is unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise violates applicable law;
  • use the Sounds to train, develop, or improve machine learning, artificial intelligence, or similar automated systems without prior written permission from Soundsnap;
  • claim ownership of the Sounds or register them with any content identification, fingerprinting, or rights‑management system.

4. SUBSCRIPTION AND ACCESS

Your subscription or account governs Your ability to access and download Sounds from the Soundsnap platform. Subject to compliance with this License, Sounds downloaded while You have a valid subscription may be used in accordance with the rights granted herein.

Soundsnap may modify, suspend, or discontinue availability of any Sound or portion of the service for legitimate business, legal, or technical reasons.

5. TERM AND TERMINATION

This License is perpetual with respect to Sounds lawfully downloaded and used in compliance with this License.

Soundsnap may suspend or terminate Your account or access to the service if You materially breach this License or the Terms of Service. Termination of an account or subscription does not affect rights granted for Sounds downloaded prior to termination, except in the case of material breach.

6. OWNERSHIP AND WARRANTIES

The Sounds are owned by their respective Original Authors and are licensed, not sold. Except as expressly stated, Soundsnap makes no warranties regarding the Sounds and disclaims all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Soundsnap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the use of the Sounds or the service.

8. GOVERNING LAW

This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws specified in the Soundsnap Terms of Service.
