Billing
I 'm trying to buy a pack, but my card keeps getting rejected.
There are some known problems with certain cards and we 're working hard to solve them. In the meanwhile, please try using a different card or use Paypal- it takes 3 mins to create an account. Alternatively, email us at hello@soundsnap.com and we can send you an invoice to be paid via wire or check.
For how long can I use the download credits I bought? Are there limitations?
You can use any sounds you've downloaded indefinitely so long as the usage is in accordance with our licence. Annual Subscriptions last exactly one year from the date of the first download, and Monthly sounds renew every 30 days unless you decide to cancel.
How often will you bill my card? Do you have recurring billing?
Monthly and annual subscribers will have their card charged monthly or yearly, depending on the type of account.
Monthly accounts are charged at the time of purchase and then every 30 days from the date of first purchase. Annual accounts are charged at the time of purchase and then one calendar year from the date of first purchase.
You may cancel a Monthly or Annual subscription at any time from the billing settings page. Please note: if you have paid with PayPal and have a pending transaction for your account, the cancellation will take effect after the pending transaction has been processed.
5 sound packs are not time-based accounts, and they do not charge on a recurring basis.
How do I change my billing information after I have already subscribed?
You cannot change your billing information until after your subscription ends. In order to prevent your old info from being charged again, go to the Billing tab in your profile and switch Auto-renew to off. When your subscription reaches it's end, you will then be able to input new billing information under your user name.
How do I cancel or reactivate a recurring subscription?
Go to ‘My Account’ at the top right corner of any page, then choose ‘Billing’ from the dropdown. From the Billing page, you can view the details of your recurring subscription and cancel or reactivate it at any time by clicking the Automatic Renewal button. It’s as easy as flipping a switch!
Note that for PayPal recurring payments, any pending payments must be processed before a subscription is canceled completely.
I’m a German user. Why can’t I purchase a Monthly or Annual subscription through PayPal?
Paypal has special rules that prevent German accounts from subscribing to recurring payments from other countries. We apologize for the inconvenience.
We are currently working on a technical solution to this issue. As an alternative, feel free to contact us at hello@soundsnap.com for alternate payment andpricing plans.

Copyright & Legal
How can I be certain that the sounds on Soundsnap are legal?
The vast majority of our sounds have been licensed from reputable contributors with extensive Hollywood and TV credits. After submission, our team listens to each sound making sure they don't infringe anyone's copyright.
Finally, because of the large volume of traffic on the website, it would be really hard to distribute a sound illegally. Our sounds are checked daily by members of the community that can inform us of any copyright infringement.
Can I use these sounds in a commercial project(s)?
Yes. Any commercial use in film, TV, radio, web, games etc. is clearly permitted under our license. The only use that is not allowed is the commercial distribution (re-selling) of the sounds "as they are" on CDs, websites etc.
Can I copy sounds from Soundsnap onto a CD or my website and re-sell them?
Absolutely not. That's against our Terms of Use and a violation of international copyright law.
