I've been making sounds for decades, the past few years spent making weird effected guitar noises.

I use a G&L Strat style 6 string electric guitar which I run through 4 different effects units before recording into the computer.

My effects: Digitech GSP 2101 Studio Tube
Digitech TSR-12
Ensoniq DP Pro
Line6 PODxt

All these run through a Mackie CR1604 mixer. I also occasionally use an eBow, capo and/or slide.

I record into the computer (improvising, no metronome or click track) using Creative WaveStudio, which I also use to chop up loops (and occasionally reverse them). I use t-RackS for mastering and ACID Pro 4.0 for quantizing, pitch changes and layering.

And that's how the magic happens.
