About John Leonard

Theatre sound designer for over thirty five years. Been recording my own stuff for most of those years, first analog, then DAT, now using Soundfield ST250, Sony MS-5 and Core-Sound TetraMic with a number of Metric Halo interfaces. All recent recordings are made in full periphonic surround at 96/24 and transcoded as required. Particular interests include period transport and the more unusual sounds of everyday life. My work has been heard world-wide, I've won Drama Desk and Sound Designer of The Year awards and written a number of articles about sound effects work for theatre, as well as a book on theatre sound in general. If I ever get though sorting out my archive, I'll write the second edition.
