What about "HiRes"?

I guess the most of us could render their sounds in a higher quality. 96kHz/24Bit or even 192/32.

What do you think about hiRes samples?
I mean, those files need way more webspace. So I thought I should ask before uploading samples in this resolution.

By the way, there is another

By the way, there is another reason why we have held back from hi-res files.

Wav and Aif 44.1/16 bit ensure the maximum compatibility with all systems- especially amateur users could have compatibility issues with different formats.

But at some point we will have to allow these for sure.

I think at the current state

I think at the current state files dedicated for film work/sounddesign should be uploaded at 48khz/24 Bit which is a high enough resolution imo. If you have to downsample files from 96khz to 48/44.1 everbody make sure to use a good samplerate converter - many of the SCR converters in DAWs are really not state of the art and deteriorate the Audio. The SCR converter in the new Mac OS Leopard are much better than they used to be in Tiger. Check out this link:

Hi Acid, We 've been

Hi Acid,

We 've been thinking about hi-res, because they are indeed the future of sound design.

However, our system doesn't support these yet, so we 'll have to wait.

Most people are happy with 44.1/16 bit, (which is CD quality!), so I think we 're good enough for now.

But its something we will introduce in the future for sure.
