Sample sounds buffer but never play

had the choice of mp3 or avi download page where i could review sounds -but when i registered and logged on with my user name and password could not get to preview or down load-please wot am i doing wrong-using mozilla/yahoo plus xp professional

I have spoken to the 'doctor' (our coder Robb) and he says:
'It sure sounds like an OS related issue and is not unusual when playing streaming sounds... The longer Windows runs, the worse it gets. Restarting the browser often helps but a full computer restart is usually needed eventually.'
and then goes on to propose some possible solutions:
1. Make sure you have the latest and greatest Flash plug in installed
2. Make sure your video players are all updated. MS automatic updates do not always get minor corrections. An occasional manual update via Start / Programs / Window Update is encouraged. Other OSs should do the same.
3. Also, we have increased the download speed to help work around client side issues but that is all we can do for now.

When searching the site and playing sample sounds
The first one or two tend to work ok but then I get a problem...
Sample sounds buffer, they load 100% but they just refuse to play, sounds that worked earlier also refuse to play
Any ideas?
