What is Soundsnap?

Soundsnap is the best platform to find and share free sound effects and loops- legally. It is a collection of original sounds made or recorded by its users, and not songs or sound FX found on commercial libraries or sample CD's.

It was originally started by a small group of sound people from all over the world. Our common belief is that sounds and samples should be free for everyone to use in their projects, commercial or not.

Our users are a diverse mix of sound designers, sound artists, web game developers, filmmakers and music producers. Hobbyists and home video makers are welcome too.

What Soundsnap is NOT:

  • An alternative to Myspace, Limewire or BitTorrent.
  • A place to upload your band's songs or your favourite mp3's. Soundsnap is only for sound effects and loops.
  • A place you can upload or find sounds from commercial libraries. All sounds here are original- made or recorded by its users.

We encourage everyone to upload high quality sound FX and samples, helping us make every kind of sound available on Soundsnap.

We are looking for feedback from the community to constantly improve, and we depend on our users for that. So please feel free to leave a recommendation or feedback in the special section of our forum.

I hope you enjoy your time here and Happy Snapping!

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently contemplating whether or not to buy the new Logic Studio Pro, as I've heard about lots of new features that might be useful to me. I'm normally more of a protools person, because of the editing features, but if logic was a bit more intuitive on the editing front, I could probably be convinced of it.

Has anyone used/bought logic studio and if so, how does it differ to the old version? Would be great to hear a small review...

Thanks =)

Hi there, Yes I bought it

Hi there,
Yes I bought it the day it came out and have not opened Logic 7 since. It´s more intuitive to work with, less need for changing screensets all the time, some great new tools (Delay designer rocks!) and the new Compressor is awesome. Automatic channel strip organisation saves a lot of time and one spends less time in the environment. As every new Software it has some minor bugs but no real showstoppers. I´ve been using Logic since it came out 1987/88 and have been evolving with it so I can now say that this is a good update. Visit the Logic Forum to get more Input on this:

P.S. Other programs like Soundtrack Pro, Wave Burner and Mainstage come with it, very useful programms too - the 40 Gigabyte of Jam Packs/Loops included don´t impress me that much but that´s mainly because I don´t like using presets, their sound quality is good though

Logic Studio is Great. Logic

Logic Studio is Great. Logic 8 has a very good workflow, fine Sounds and Plug-Ins and a new Interface.
The best is it costs the half price of Logic 7.

Does anyone have anything to

Does anyone have anything to say about the editing features? they're one thing that always really bugged me in the old logic. Does it now function any different than it used to?
