I guess its pretty much impossible to stop people from uploading badly recorded sounds, but if people rated samples more, it would be easier to discriminate.

Its a shame so much great content is hidden beneath so much badly recorded stuff.

Please dont upload stuff recorded on your laptops built in mic!

There will be a link to here from the upload page saying:
'Uploading for the first time? Make sure you have read our upload quidelines'

This will improve over time.

I wouldn't like to make it much longer than it already is, but I 'm still open to any ideas for it.

Thanks for the reply Tasos.

There was a file there downloaded 1000 times and had still not been rated. I'll try to rate as many as I can every time I visit the site. Hopefully more people will start rating sounds, perhaps there could be some sort of incentive to do so.

One more thing, a lot of people are uploading effected, rather than dry samples. Theres a lot of "I put this through guitar rig" and "lots of reverb on this". I've no problem with those samples, but the dry version would be great to have too.

I think some clear uploading guidelines would benefit the site.

Sorry to be a moan, I love the site, I just think it has much potential to be the biggest and best of these kind of sites, with a little improvement.

Welcome to the community and thanks for your input.

People should definitely rate more!

But keep in mind that I can always erase a sound whenever I feel that the quality is really bad and that its bad for the library.

Usually, its forth keeping the sound, just because you don't have that type of sound well recorded in the library, so the badly recorded one is better than nothing. Also, some will argue that one man's junk, is another man's treasure...

Having said that, and coming from an engineering/production backround, I definitely appreciate quality and I'm ready to erase any bad sounds!

So finally, I have to agree: DON'T UPLOAD LOW SOUND QUALITY SOUNDS!
