I would like to add my own tags to sounds that I did not upload.

We have already the "add to favorites" option that can be usefull,
but about something like "add my personal tags" i dont" know
it"s more a life style that an usefull thing,
on my side when i love a sound a download it
and keep it on my computer...

Thank you for your suggestions and your time.

At the moment only admins have the right to edit descriptions and tags, and whenever we do so, our changes are always in accordance with the soundsnap concept, and to the best benefit of the uploader's work. In my opinion, leaving the tags editable by just anyone, is a situation very likely to get out of hand.
We are examining, however, the potential of creating a category of advanced users with special privileges in the near future, and this is one of the privileges under consideration.

As far as your second suggestion is concerned, I'm not quite sure how something like that could be useful, as one can never really know which tags the rest of the community are going to find useful and which they won't.
