As far as your first question is concerned, personally, I remain logged in all the time, unless I choose to log out. Try to start a new browser session and let us know if you still experience problems...
Indeed, signatures are featured in the "comment" boxes. You can always erase it and write your post. The signature will be automatically added. In any case, you can preview your posts/comments before posting them, to check how they come out.

I noticed that this site doesn't have an option to keep the user logged in for each visit on the login page. Maybe I missed it, but it looks like I'd need to login every time I revisit the site with a new browser session. I think you can acheive this through cookie settings.
Also, with the comments box at the bottom of the screen (when viewing forum posts or specific sounds. I recently setup my signature in the profile page, but now everytime that comments box comes up, it defaults in the text that I typed in for my signature.
