Just ignore them or show their IP/PROXY :-)

NO, I never would try to use compressed-WAV cuz thatS not useful
and they are just really supported on professionnnal soft,
but the thing is that I would just know if some dummies
upload an compressed one the module will can be able
to detect/delete that or not, compressed-WAV exist
on the net so it's possible that some people upload some :(
Ok I will add some in the next hours ☺

Actually, you 'll have to try and tell me about the filename.
The site is very young, so we haven't tested everything!
I wouldn't try uploading other formats such as compressed WAVs, even if they work. It won't work for others on different players, editors etc.
Stick to PCM audio please!

I have no problems if admins would change my tags but
can be cool to be warned an get a list of these sound
cuz on my side I have a TXT file for each of my sound
that contains the tags an description and in that case
that can be more helpfull when updating them :)
Some question:
Long file name like "SOUNDSNAP_-_HardPCM_-_CCITT4_-_Key_0.wav" are problematic?
RIFF WAV Files can contain other format than PCM, like GSM/MPEG/ADPCM...
Have you something to control/delete these files??
Hi PCM,
I think that the 99% of the people are most happy with WAV and AIF. So why confuse the many amateur, non-audio-pros with formats like Flac? Soundsnap is not only for audio freaks like me and you that know what FLAC is...:-) its for the masses also that don't, web, film people etc.
To your questions:
We use Drupal which is Open source, so most of our modules can be found at drupal.org. We have contributed some nice modules there too! But coders can't really work on our code for now. We might open it up if we have more interest.
I don't mind if you upload a large bunch, but currently there is no way to upload big chunks of sound together. This forces users to choose their sounds more wisely. It also makes it easier for the admins to approve sounds gradually.
For me, 10 tags are too many. But its up to the user how many they will choose. We initially like to give this freedom, thats the point. But later this can be edited by us and we can give recommendations and quidance.
Thanks for your questions and feedback!

I'm Interested to the technology your are using,
cuz one year ago I was thinking to make an site
like YourS and like FreeSound but I was needed people
and one good server and I had/have not
the $cash==0/ressource/time for starting that
so I forget that, and i just contributed
for now and developing some audio code/src/subs/prog/soft...
But don'T be surprised if In the next year I start another site,
but you can be sure that I will noT stop to make sound for you :)
respect ;-)
Ok, I understand why you just take WAV file for now...
First the PHP code access the WAV' RAW data and dumps the pictures :)
and after you convert them to mp3 with lame :) ,
good basic strategy but can be better in the future...
CuZ for now WAV,AIF,AIFF,MP3,FLAC,OGG are the dominating format
and you are just supporting two of them :°( ,
but it's a good begin, and another good stategy to force to upLoad HI-FI sounds :)
For new sound from me that will take one or two weeks
to make new good sound for your site :)
Some question:
Is your PHP code open/free?
I use an average of 10 tags per sound, it is problematic??
If I upload 50/100 sound(in one shot) in one day, it is problematic???
There is an alternative to upload big pack of sounds in one shot(>50)????

I'm new Too and already love that place ;)
In fact I'm just an stupid electronic Technician,
but I'm a programmer/gamer too,
and I love to make sound and music...
