I did have a pet turtle (we used take long walks, but after an hour, we'd find ourselves 4 feet from the studio..Kidding.. actually, 8 feet from the studio door. ) But seriously, from the pet turtles I've had, I did hear gurgles at times, and also a crunching-boney sound when he cleaned his jaws..

I came here looking for amazing sound effects for an online project I'm working on, and am one very happy camper.
One thing troubles me though, and that's this. I need a sound effect that represents a turtle. I don't think they make a recognizable, user-friendly sound that's a few seconds long.
Does anyone have any creative ideas of other sounds I could use in place? Water sounds? Bird sounds?
