No car breaking sounds?? With so many sounds here, I can't believe there isn't any car breaking sounds!

I think he was referring to "car braking".

But the main problem was an issue our search system had for a few days that eliminated some results.

Its been fixed now, so all the searches you proposed should return plenty if results.

Also, I'm not sure whether you want a car being broken up, or a car applying brakes, which would be spelled 'braking.' You could also try 'car brake', 'tire squeal', 'tyre squeal' and 'skid' which might yield some better results.
