A number of small changes have been done for downloads. If you see a problem a post to this thread would be appreciated!
- Most browsers should now be forced to download the file when the MP3/WAV/AIFF icons are clicked. Some browsers were playing these files and that confused people since these counted towards their downloads. The force-download can only be suggested, browsers can still do whatever they please based on plugins, settings, etc.
- FREE accounts will now see a simple warning when they click the icons to download a sound. This helps introduce them to the mechanics of Soundsnap and avoids downloads that were not intended. This warning is NOT displayed for paid accounts.
- The counter in the title bar is now updated based on your download activity for the current page. The counter is an estimate and if you have multiple browsers or tabs open and downloading from those pages, then the counter will not be accurate. We will continue to improve this counter over time. But it is a bit better now.
- If a download fails or is canceled, you should be able to download the same sound again without using up one of your download credits. This is only valid for the last sound downloaded. This should help resolve problems where spotty Internet connectivity or a browser crash caused a download failure.
- Some minor adjustments to the popup text to explain things better.
