Yeah, only a few results. Not really what I'm after.
I know theoretically what FM does, but I'm seeking a more practical take, e.g. how to form certain harmonics and model a particular sound.
Right now I'm mostly just playing trial and error with experiments. I can only vaguely relate instruments to basic oscillators as I would in subtractive synthesis, but not as advanced as some FM sounds that I have heard, which sound more realistic.

Hey all,
Synth head is new to this forum. :) Good to be here!
Ok so my question was about FM synthesis, which I am quite new to, regarding specific techniques and intellectual understanding of sound modeling.
Is there a logical way of using and understanding this synthesis? So far the practice of producing a sound is pretty chaotic and unpredictable to me.
Can somebody please link me to some good FM tutorials that are easy to understand?
Thanks so much!
