Over that last two days a number of small changes were made to improve the download and streaming of files.
When clicking on the MP3 or WAV icons your browser should now display a download dialog instead of trying to auto-play the file. If your browser auto-downloads or auto-plays the MP3/WAV files please check your preferences. Firefox, IE and Safari all have settings that control this. For example FF defaults to saving to the desktop, a setting I change immediately!
A fix was also added to improve streaming for Safari. Previously Safari (Windows and Mac) had some problems streaming files to the Flash player.
We discovered that some sounds could not always be downloaded or streamed reliably. I think those have been fixed. It was a small percentage (2-3 %) and it did not always occur, but it you had problems downloading or streaming in the past please try again. If you still have a problem post a message. If you can include the URL that would be very helpful.
Given the capabilities of the new server we have adjusted the settings to provide even better performance especially during peak times.
