Hi Tasos.
The problem was that when I downloaded a bunch sounds from the Unreal Ambiances category, every sound file had that long tag name attached the the front of the file.
Like these files:
Sound design drone electrical dark 01_SFXBible_ss05789.wav
Sound design digital accent static blip low 01_SFXBible_ss05726.wav
Sound design electrical accent whoosh 01_SFXBible_ss05879.wav
What I was wondering if it were possible or easier to have the file just have the Category name followed by the file name so that the files would now read like this...
Unreal Ambiances drone electrical dark 01.wav
Unreal Ambiances digital accent static blip low 01.wav
Unreal Ambiances electrical accent whoosh 01.wav
I was just figuring that there was no need for the files to have a Title and the User's name since those are already present in the box.
Or perhaps just get rid of the word TITLE and switch it to NAME [name of the sound].
I have no problems opening the sounds in ACID.
Its just that with really long tag names at the beginning of the files and if I have several sounds from the same title and I open ACID's folder explorer it will show only part of the name which in this case is the long tag name and it will do that to all those sounds.
The means that I won't know the name of each sound because the tag name is to long.
I then will have to rename it.
Also some sounds with that ending number and letter code can't be found using the SEARCH function which I found kind of odd.
AOS01123 can't be found but ss05879 can.
Anyway this is such a greet site and although I like the Freesound Projects file naming setup,I prefer SoundSnap's Category,SubCategory and sound browser setup.
The whole site looks very professional.

I noticed that after I had downloaded a few sounds from the Unreal Ambiances section, each sound instead of having the name of the sound had this really long tag name for example:
Thriller or horror ambience sound perfect for building tension and drama in filmgame scene. _AOS00525.wav
If your using a program like Acid and you open the explorer window, with such a long name most of it is cutoff and having to rename each one is a bit of a pain.
What I suggest is to have sounds with the Category name and the Title name that the user would give the sound and/or the SoundSnap file name so that the sound when downloaded would look more like this:
Unreal Ambiances_AOS00525.wav or
Unreal Ambiances_[name of sound]_AOS00525.wav or similar to the file naming setup of the Freesound Project:
2245__Andrew_Duke__swirl.wav
The other thing is that the site would be easier if it had the simple tools for formatting your threads like boldface and italics instead of having to know how to use HTML tags
I really think this would help alot.
Strange...as wonderful as it may be,I'm still...up here... floating...and no one even seems to notice.
